Little Dreamer

This little Fairy Tilda captured my heart some time ago and when I got this Dream Big stamp from Stampendous I knew she was the perfect embellishment for this simple card. Is she the original mini? I don't know but I do know she was tiny before the mini collection came out. Maybe she was the inspiration for this cute line of stamps? I hope so, because she is definitely an inspiration for me. In any case, she's sending out one really big wish. She may be small, but she obviously has a big heart!

The pearls and flower are Prima, the lovely lace is from RRR. Since I couldn't use glitter on this card for Operation Write Home, I glazed her wings with SU's Crystal Effects instead and lightly colored her with Copics. I'm entering her in Operation Write Home's Blog Challenge "Any Occasion"

Squigglefly Monday

Another week, another challenge. The recipe for this week's Squigglefly challenge is "Digital Delight". How fun. Now I had to think up as many elements that start with D that I could get onto my card. So, here goes.
I Distressed the Divine Swirls embossed cs, used Squigglefly's Dogwood Delight image, embellished with polka Dot ribbon, applied Diamond  Glaze to the vase, and finished off with Diamond gems. Remember, if you'd like to join in but don't have any Squigglefly images, that's okay, but if you'd like to try them out, you can find some really cute freebies here at the Squigglefly store. I'd love for you to get inspired to play along, hope to see you at the Blogspot.
BTW, please forgive the red dogwoods, I really do know better, but literary license, you know :)

Edwin's on a Mission

Today Edwin has put down his butterfly net in order to deliver something more important. He's celebrating the fact that Spring isn't too far away, and has found some early blooming flowers he wants to share. Maybe you can guess who they're for (Tilda?) and we can only hope he left Grandma's garden intact. Perhaps these are wildflowers, not Grandma's pride and joy. Either way, it's the thought that counts, isn't it?

I stamped Edwin without his butterfly net, cut out a digi bouquet and made a slit in his hand to hold the flowers. Some flower brads, shank-back glitter buttons, metal sentiment and a strip of RRR gingham ribbon. Colored everything with Copics. He's going into two challenges today: 7KidsCollegeFund "Calling All Squares", and Really Reasonable Ribbons "Spring."

A Fun Challenge

I don't enter challenges as often as I should - I know, I've said this before, and I really want to participate more. Just have to kick up the initiative a bit and dive in. So, today I'm entering this card for Operation Write Home in the Digital Tuesday Challenge. Simple, fun challenge, really. Only requirements are to use a digital image - I used "Cats in a Row" from Squigglefly , designer digi background paper from Bearly Mine - and a die cut - that explains the Fancy Label from Spellbinders. Can I just say it was fun trying to stick all those itty bitty stars on the background?

To Honor Those Who Sew ...

I'm not one of them! I don't sew, not because I don't know how, because I do - but because I've just never learned to LIKE to. Sorry, folks, but it's just not one of the things I can get "into". So, to honor those brave souls who thread up their machine, arm their zipper foot and go to it - here's to you! I envy you your patience, your ability to sew a straight seam and insert a sleeve without a single pucker. Pleats? What pleats? Never mind, just know that this is my tribute to you to whom a foot pedal is an extension of your body. Sew On!

The stamp is Perfect Fit by House Mouse Designs. Pierced around the frame to simulate sewing (my kind of sewing), added a sentiment from CardMaker Magazine and used Bearly Mine digital paper for the background. Pulled out the old reliable zigzag scissors to cut the frame and threw in a stash button and rick rack for good luck. Please be assured that this is probably as close as I'll ever come to machine sewing so I hope you appreciate my effort :)

I Thought I Was Finished!

Well, I guess I wasn't quite finished yet. Now, this is definitely my last Valentine or I'll be working on next year's Love Day! Decided to send a little love note to my aunt so this is for her. Some Prima flowers, MS punches, Nestie frames and Magnolia garland and Tilda. Red stickles on her bow and boots, diamond stickles on her petticoat and the butterfly.

Valentine wishes to every one, every day!

It's Squigglefly Time! Again!

It's been two weeks since my team's last challenge at the Squigglefly blog. This week's assignment, should you choose to accept it*, is CIRCLES. I guess that's self-explanatory, just use circles on your card hopefully incorporating some Squgglefly image or images. (If you need some inspiration for this challenge, you can always pick up some freebies here.) By all means, please give it a try. We'd love to have you join us for the fun. There will be a prize, randomly drawn from the entries, and a cute badge for your website that you can grab while you're there.
When I saw the challenge requirements, I took them literally, so I used circles and, no, there's no prize for guessing how many circles I have on my card (he he). The image is "Singing in the Rain" and he can be found at our sponsors shop for download of course.

*BTW, this message will NOT self-destruct in 60 seconds :)

An All Occasion Card

Monday there's another Challenge at Squigglefly so today I want to share a card I made for Operation Write Home with one of their very pretty nature images. That's one of the reasons I'm liking Squigglefly so much - it's the diversity of their images; really there are digis for just about any purpose, and this is one I chose for a simpler card. It would be fun if you could join in on Monday's theme. No Squigglefly images, you say? The store offers a variety of freebies here for you to use. If you're new to digis, give them a try. They're lots of fun and they're great to use in combination with your favorite rubber stamps, too!

Hope to see you Monday and that you'll join the fun.

Jungle Tilda .......

is staking her claim! She wants to make sure Edwin knows who his Valentine is supposed to be - no ifs, ands, or buts about it! She's making her stand on some K&Co DP, with a few Sizzix leaves for adornment. She looks pretty serious about this, so Edwin had better pay attention. Let's see .. chocolates, roses maybe? I'm sure he'll think of something sweet. Oh yes, can't forget the MS Fence border punch in the background!
