House Mouse Happy 4th of July!

Finally managed a House Mouse card - in celebration of Independence Day - a patriotic song from the HM crew. Happy 4th to all, and have a great holiday weekend. For those of you outside the United States, you're welcome to join in if you like! We'd love to have you.

Celebrate Independence Day!!!

When I saw from Barb Hardeman's Stampalicious blog that Stamptacular's Sunday Challenge this week was Stars and Stripes, I had to post this. Very simple, but hopefully very 4th of July-ish.
Think I'll enter it just for fun. The sentiment was stamped. the rest is just paper and ribbon.

Birthday Serenade

Sometimes don't you just hate computers?  I've been struggling to get mine back in shape for the past three days and progress is slow. All my precious bookmarks are gone! All my favorite vendors, card sites, everything. Well, if that's the worst thing that happens to me in my life, I'm one lucky puppy. In spite of all these problems, I've managed to finish a birthday card that has to get in the mail ASAP. Been working on Noble Tilda for several weeks, couldn't finish her til I got the little piano charm I had ordered on eBay. I think that charm finishes her off pretty well. She's a tent card and I finished off the back as well. Let me know what you think. Now back to computer fixing, got to get back in the game!
Just a note - her shoes and sash are silver-glittered, she's adorned with pearl drop earrings and matching choker. An elegant lady to celebrate a special day.

Summertime Fun

Tilda here. Kicking back on a tropical isle enjoying the warm blue waters, palm trees swaying in the breeze. Oh dear, how I wish I were Tilda right now! She sure knows how to relax.

Water was embossed with Cuttlebug tiny bubbles, then heat embossed with UTEE. Copper stickles outline the sand. Palm trees were cut with Life Is A Beach Cricut cart and colored with Prismas. The sun was a metal charm originally attached to a bookmark. As usual neither camera nor scanner do the colors justice but it's the best I could get. The stamp on the ribbon says "Have a Cool Day"

Just Flying By ...

Just a simple card for OWH Sketch Challenge #22. You can't see it but the balloon is heat-embossed with clear gloss. My trusty Cuttlebug did the balloon's backgkround. Balloon brads and paper from my stash finished it off.
This starts my second batch of cards for this project. I'm pretty jazzed that I finished my first 50 but I think I'll take it a little easier from now on. Can't let the rest of my projects sit idle. Time is flying - only 6 months left til Christmas!

#48 and Have Hit a Snag!

Okay, one more, but now I have a problem. My 9-yr-old nephew called this am and asked me to make a scrapbook for him of his camping trips to Moab, Utah, Yosemite and Sequoia Nat'l Park. I made one for my niece and he needs one, too. Well, I'm flattered, of course, so it's my next project. I'm just glad I can do something that the kids appreciate. I feel pretty lucky. I rarely see them, but they know Aunt Sue is always good for a favor! So, now it's off to Maggie-land to search for Edwin stamps. Sorry, Tilda, you'll have to wait a while longer. Edwin and a Junior Ranger Scrapbook are calling.

Another use of some pretty rub-ons.

#47 Ready to go

Finally getting there - only three more cards to go for Operation Write Home. I don't know why I did this except that setting a goal of 50 seemed a good idea at the time. The mess in my craft area is piling up as I reach for my deadline, so very soon I'm bound to get buried in here! Time to stop and clean. (again). It's a shame my former neighbor moved - she was a paper-maker and was always happy to get my scraps. Now the trash collectors have to deal with them. Oh well, as long as I'm not the one who has to take out the trash. I've been sitting on packages of rub-on stickers forever, so decided to use some of them. After all, they're very pretty, and I'm down to the wire. Other than that, very simple card. BTW, this is going to the Pile It On Sticker Challenge. Couldn't resist!

You've Got Mail

If the Shoe Fits is having an interesting challenge this week and I thought this would be fun. The challenge?
Navy Blue, Dark Green and Tan!. Fun, huh? So I'm using my 46th OWH card to enter. Only four more cards to go before I send them off to be shipped overseas. Then I get to start all over again. Think I'll allow myself a little more time this go around. I really need to breathe occasionally.

Can't give any recipe cuz I just used stuff I've had for a long time. Trying to be economical and dig into my stash.

How Sweet It Is

Hi. Happy House Mouse here. Grapes, strawberries, who cares? as long as there are piles and piles of them. I hope he doesn't get a tummy ache 'cuz he has to man it up for a couple of challenges this week. House Mouse and Friends SWEET - Simon Says 1 Image, 2 DPs, 3 Embellies. Magnolia-licious Birthday Bash (the flowers are from Maggie even if the image isn't and I hope this qualifies as Bling.

It's a Jungle, for sure!

A card for today, another fun adventure with Tilda from Magnolia Stamps  Tomorrow I have to do some organizing, why do all these bits and pieces pile up so fast? A box for this, a folder for that -- oh, well -- I think Tilda's having a worse day than I am!

Flying High

Whew! Interesting day - it's always interesting when the cable guy has to come out and check your connections. The mystery service call - will he or won't he show up on time? Thankfully, he did, so I was able to finish the Tilda card I've been imagining for ages. I love Hot Air Balloons, I think they're magical - I've had this background paper forever and when I saw Happy Tilda I knew this was what I wanted to do. Nothing fancy, no bling or glitter or buttons and bows - just what I wanted to say.

Fishy Kisses

I was having fun with this silly little fish, found some digi paper that was perfect for the background, and the perfect sentiment to go with it. I have some more serious cards to do this weekend so wanted to get this one posted before I got distracted. Anyhow, he makes me laugh, so that's a good thing.

Tilda with Bee

I'm on a roll. Did I say I was through at 2 cards? I guess, like Arnie said "I lied."  Anyhow needed to do one more Tilda for the troops, so here she is, and now I really hope I get my new Maggies soon!

Second Card Today - I'm gettin' there

Here's card number 32. Now I have to quit because my brain is fried. I need to do some more blog-hopping to regenerate  my mojo. Then I'll sleep on it and dream of paper and glue!

Happy Tuesday - Is it Friday Yet?

Trying to get at least one card done every day in order to complete my goal of 50 cards for Operation Write Home. In my "cute" mode so used one of Penny Black's cute images, some digi paper I had, then smashed a little yellow on some white flowers. Only did some yellow and green color spots on the duck 'cuz I wanted to maintain the yellow/black combo as much as possible. Now it's 31 down and 19 to go!

Yellow and Blue Tilda

Here's my latest, Swimsuit Tilda, ready to go to Operation Write Home for our overseas troops. I'm a little frustrated because neither my camera or scanner is picking up the skin tones correctly. I think I'm going to have to use a better technique for coloring skin tones. My camera isn't very forgiving, I'm afraid. I'll keep trying because she deserves the best and I've seen it from so many of you. She's pretty simple because she has to travel and still fit snugly in her envelope. I've submitted her to Simply Magnolias for her Sunday challenge, using Yellow. Now I'm off to color more Tildas - hopefully with improved skin colors! Wish me luck.
