Make a Wish

A fellow "groupie" was asking about the Cuttlebug Emboss Plus folders so I thought I'd play with a new one I just gave myself for Christmas. Well, you have to take care of Number One once in a while don't you?
I made this as simple as possible, A2 size ( the Perfect Perennials folder is supposed to be A2 but you can see it's really 4 x 6 so I did a slight trim and mounted it on an A2 background.) Dabbbed the embossing with Tim Holtz Faded Jeans distress ink, adhered a few tiny pearls, and used the most adorable Magnolia Fairy for the image in the cutout. The cutout piece went in my ditty box to be used at a later date for something equally exquisite :)

She looks suspiciously like the tooth fairy to me, Maybe some money tucked inside and lovingly placed under a little one's pillow?

Back in the Swing of Things

At least I hope I'm getting back into it. I've missed my stamping and coloring and doodling and all the good fun that goes with it. I've missed hopping to lots of blogs, although I have tried to keep up as much as I could. Life just gets out of balance sometimes and there's nothing to do but be patient and think happy thoughts. So now it's time to post another card I did with Edwin and his pet chicken. I sat him on his bench and added a bushel of apples for him to munch on as he waits for that egg to hatch. (Wishful thinking, I'm guessing.)
Now it's back to the drawing board and get stamping!!!

Squigglefly Design Team - What a Way to Start the New Year!!!

Well, what can I say. When I was first approached I said "Who? Me?" Then I realized what a fun challenge to become a part of. I had already purchased a few Squigglefly Digi images and fell in love with them.
Squigglefly has a rewards program. When you sign up for Squigglefly Rewards it keeps track of your purchases and for every $15.00 you spend you earn a free image! You can redeem the free image whenever you want.
Did you know that Squigglefly is the only company that doesn't let your download links expire?  This is important because if your computer crashes and you lose your images, you can contact Squigglefly with your e mail address and they can send your download links to you so you can retrieve your images!
Well, with all that said, I'd like you to visit the Squigglefly Challenge Blog, new each Monday, and join in the fun.  My team's first challenge will be on January 10, so please drop by and be part of the challenge. Look forward to seeing all of you there. In the meantime, let Edwin start your Monday off with a bang!

As you can see, he found the Squigglefly Drum Set (did he get this for an early Christmas?) and set to work at once. Rock and Roll FOREVER!
Since this card is going to OWH in the next batch anyway, I jumped at the chance to enter in the OWH "All About the Boys" Challenge I just saw today. Sure hope it's okay to do this,  cuz I think this card is really all boy!!!

Happy New Year

It's time to think about the upcoming new year - 2011- oh my gosh, how time is flying by. 2010 has been so eventful; some good, some bad, some tragic but all in all, for me, a year of making new friends and sharing new ideas; of learning new things, of finding new ways to give back in appreciation of all the blessings I have received over the year; of new accomplishments and new objectives. In other words, it hasn't been a bad year at all and I'm looking forward to the challenges of 2011. Whatever the year brings you, I hope there's more good than bad, more joy than sorrow, more laughs than tears and the opportunity to look back at it's end and say "Another good year. I am blessed." Happy New Year to you all.

To start the year, I made a couple of simple shaker card calendars using my little House Mouse friends. Just wanted to try the SCS shaker technique 'cuz it looked like fun.

Keepin' It Short but Sweet

Been trying to fight a horrible sinus infection the past few days, but it seems the sinuses are winning this round. In spite of that, I've been a real trooper, or actually a martyr feeling sorry for myself, and managed to finish one card. Thus, the short post. If I can ever keep food down again, I'll get back to work!!
P.S Living on vanilla pudding is getting very, very old :)

Snowman Raising the Roof

Two Challenges this week
SquiggleFly Let it Snow
The image is one of SquiggleFly's adorable, silly snowmen who always make me smile, they're so cute.

I made this card a while back for Operation Write Home but was saving the post for the holiday season. . Will try to post a few more OWH Christmas cards over the next couple weeks to keep the holiday spirit going.
Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - Blue Christmas. My favorite color for Christmas cards. I like the idea of moonlight on fresh fallen snow. It does look blue, then, doesn't it?

My Silly Santa

A silly card to celebrate the season. Not much to say except the DP is Bearly Mine digi, the string of lights is a Jolee sticker and now I've gone and misplaced the Santa stamp so I can't tell you who made him, just that I think he's too cute.
He's saying "Will work for cookies". Ho Ho Ho!!

Last but not Least!!

Finally, I think this is the last of my Christmas cards/projects for the year. Everything's packed and ready to ship, cards stamped, addressed and ready to mail, goodies all finished for the three little munchkins, all shopping done! Now I can play to my heart's content the rest of the year. Whoopie, can't believe it. So here's my last (don't make me swear to this, though) card featuring Tilda picking out her favorite tree decoration. I hope Edwin helps her string this garland, as it looks a little awkward for her to do by herself.

I used Bearly Mine DP, RRR star chain ribbon, glittered card stock, Prima flowers, Magnolia chandelier garland, MS punched silver foil leaves, and I paper-pieced her polka dot pinafore. Coloring courtesy of Copics. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!
Hope everyone has a reasonably stress-free December.

Time Out from Christmas

Taking a break from the holiday rush to make this little card for OWH Mid Week Throwdown, a card featuring an animal or animals. Birds really are animals, aren't they? Anyhow this is one of several birthday cards I've been working on for my next shipment to OWH..
