You Are My Sunshine

Another card for SCS Breast Cancer Awareness. This one gave me the opportunity to stretch out into another hobby I love, crochet. The challenge was to create your own embellishment, so I crocheted the sun shining down on Singing Tilda's head as she serenades Edwin. Maybe you can't see him, but you know he's there somewhere. I tied a button to the middle of the sun, added some punched musical notes and used red Copics for the first time on her gown. I learned one thing - red is rough! I'm going to need some practice before I get the shading right, but I do so love the vibrant color. I created the sentiment with the JustRite font set, put it all together on BG Citrus DP and popped her in the box of cards waiting to be sent to the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Texas.
Now off to do some much needed craft room cleaning, and try a few more cards for my military friends.
