Magnolia-licious Birthday Bash #3

Well, I finally got up the nerve to enter a Maggie challenge. Unfortunately, my scanner sabotaged the colors on my Tilda with Bee. I've tried everything but this is the best scan I could get and it doesn't do justice to her colors. I think I might invest in a better scanner (or ask for one for my B'day? hint-hint) but here goes anyhow. She's colored with Prismas, DP is Crate Paper Bliss. I cut out three of the paper flowers and popped them over the bee, and used some satin flowers and ribbon I had in my stash. I pulled out my old Coluzzle and was happy to see that the ovals, circles and squares all fit perfectly with the Nestie scallops. It just goes to show - Never, never, never discard Anything. You never know when ...

A Most Flattering Memory for Tracy to Cherish

She's a little fireball with a mind of her own and, as you can see, isn't too happy when she doesn't get her own way. However, I couldn't resist posting this for posterity, hoping that some day I can blackmail her with it. Tracy, you're a cutie pie. Love, Aunt Sue

Someday she's gonna be really mad at me for this!

Remember Memorial Day

I wanted to get one more little mousie done before the long weekend. I'm having a bit of vapor lock so will probably shut down the craft room for the weekend and just veg for a while. However, I have finished this card so I'll share it. DCWV Glitter paper used. and cuttlebug embossing and MS edge punch and stickles on butterfly, etc., etc. etc. In other words, all the usual suspects. I'm not ecstatic about the outcome but I'm having a very non-creative day (sob, sob) so this is the result.
Have a great Memorial Day weekend, and please remember what it's all about. We have WWII fighter planes that do a beautiful fly-over right over our house, and every year it brings a tear to my eye and a sob in my throat.

Happy Wednesday

At least I think it's Wednesday! I've been kinda preoccupied these past few days so I'm not quite sure. I'm trying to work up some cards for Operation Write Home, so I thought I'd post a couple of them here. I like the happy little turtle so I've used him again, as well as this cute little summer-time bunny ready to take the plunge. As soon as I get some more cards made I'm going to pack them up and ship them out to our troops. I hope they can bring a few smiles.

Pretty Ballerina

Haven't had much time this week but I wanted to share this graceful little ballerina with you all. She's a little House Mouse, as you can see, poised for a lovely twirl into the arms of her partner. DP is Nana's Nursery, MS edge punch, Magnolia's beautiful flowers and chandelier, and stuff from my stash. Her little tutu is glittered but it's hard to pick that up in the photo. She's for my 4-yr-old niece who spends her days walking around on her tippy toes because she's a dancer! Okay, enough of that - here's her picture

All Cooped Up

Crafty Creations is having a challenge today - the theme: Encouragement/Celebration. This is my loose interpretation of Encouragement. It's a tent card, stamped the chichen wire on acetate and pasted the chicken image behind it.  I have a strange sense of humor and enjoy being a little wacky sometimes! Hope this fits the category.

Tilda Sitting on Umbrella

Wanted to do an easel card in brown and yellow and this is what popped up. I've had the little fluffy bees forever and finally found a use for them. Got the card instructions from Dena on the Just Magnolia Challenge Blog. Thanks, Dena, and everyone else who shares their talent so unselfishly.

Strawberry Dreams

I love the House Mouse stamps and wish I had them all! Right now I'm going through my collection and pulling out the few I have. My project for the week - to make a few HM cards to post. My project for June? to buy as many more as I can afford. This little guy I've had for a while and always find new ways to use him. I think I've almost worn the rubber off the pad, if that's possible.
